Client authorisation & terms 2026
1. I agree to provide keys / arrange for keys to be available for Dublin Canine Academy dog training arrangements should keys be required.
2. I authorise Dublin Canine Academy to obtain any emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the time spent with my pet. Every effort will be made to contact the owner prior to obtaining emergency care. I accept responsibility for any charges related to this emergency care. I also authorise Dublin Canine Academy to use an alternative veterinarian in the event my regular veterinarian is unavailable.
3. I agree to compensate Dublin Canine Academy for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food, or supplies.
4. I understand I will be responsible for any medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to the dog trainer or other persons or animals by the pet. I agree to cover and hold harmless Dublin Canine Academy in the event of a claim by any person or animal injured by the pet. I accept full liability for any loss or damage caused by my dog.
5. I agree to notify Dublin Canine Academy of any concerns/complaints within 24 hours of any appointments.
6. Client authorises the use of pet(s) pictures and videos on website, social media and/or marketing materials for educational and promotional purposes.
7. I understand I must state if my pet shows aggression in any way. I understand I must fully disclose any quality or characteristic problems that might make my dog not suitable for their current services or require a muzzle to carry out services safely.
8. Client must provide safe parking or cover any parking costs; unavailable parking may shorten the visit.
9. Dublin Canine Academy is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of a burglary or other crime that should occur.
Dublin Canine Academy’s Responsibilities
10. Dublin Canine Academy will not let any dog off his/her lead unless the owner has given written consent.
11. If unforeseen circumstances occur when Dublin Canine Academy cannot attend to your dog’s needs due to illness etc, you will be notified as soon as possible and receive credit or refund for this service.
12. Dublin Canine Academy is not responsible for damage sustained by a pet escaping because of a faulty lead/harness/collar or a harness/collar that is not properly fitted.
13. Dublin Canine Academy will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
14. It is clearly understood that Dublin Canine Academy shall not be held responsible for any damage to the client’s property, or that of others, caused by the client’s pets during the period in which they are in its care. The client has advised Dublin Canine Academy of all situations, which will relieve it of liability for damage.
15. This agreement is valid for all future services until a new agreement is signed. Dublin Canine Academy reserve the right to terminate this agreement at any time, at its sole discretion. The client may terminate this agreement at any time with one month’s notice.
16. Client authorises this contract to be valid approval for services so as to permit Dublin Canine Academy to accept all future in person, telephone, text/whatsapp message, online, mail or email reservations and provide services without additional signed contracts or written authorisations.
Dog Walking / Training equipment
Dublin Canine Academy do not allow the use of prong collars, slip leads, training collars, choke chains or e-collars to be worn on dogs in our care. Please provide a suitably fitting flat collar holding an ID tag with your name and address for your dog. In addition to a flat collar, harnesses can be used.
Dog License & Microchip
Your dog must be licensed & microchipped
Vaccinations
Your dog must be up to date with their vaccinations, flea and tick treatments and de-wormer treatments.
Weather
Heat
If the weather is extremely hot; dog training will still go ahead but the session plan or location may need to be altered to keep the dog cool and comfortable.
Rain and wind
Services will be normal unless winds are gale force, in this case, Owners will be informed of any delays or changes to appointments in order for Dublin Canine Academy to safely reach all dogs booked in for services. Dublin Canine Academy reserve the right to reschedule services due to safety concerns if storm warnings deem Dublin Canine Academy’s team at risk.
Freezing, ice, and snow
If the weather is below freezing and paths are icy, Dublin Canine Academy may need to reschedule appointments due to safety issues.
Training Agreement
This Agreement between dog owner (hereinafter referred to as “Client”) and Emma Dungan of Dublin Canine Academy (hereinafter known as “Trainer”) pertains to the following:
Client’s Dog (hereinafter referred to as “Dog”)
For good and valuable consideration, the parties agree as follows:
Training Fees: Client agrees to pay Trainer a non-refundable agreed fee for Dog Training Consultation. To be paid before each session commences.
Services: Trainer agrees to provide private lessons for Client and Dog on a lesson-by-lesson basis, the goal being to teach Client how to train and work with Dog. These lessons will take place at Client’s home unless agreed otherwise. Trainer will make every reasonable effort to help Client achieve training and behaviour modification goals but makes no guarantee of Dog’s performance or behaviour as a result of providing professional animal behaviour consultation. Client understands that he/she and members of the household must follow Trainer’s instructions without modification, work with dog daily as recommended, and constantly reinforce training being given to Dog.
Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy: If Client fails to give 72 hours cancellation notice, 50% of session fees are still due.
If Client fails to give a 24 hours cancellation notice, or is not present at time of scheduled appointment, session fees are due in full.
Liability: If Dog causes property damage, or bites or injures any dog, animal or person (including but not limited to Trainer and Trainer’s agents), during or after the term of this Agreement, then Client agrees to pay all resulting losses and damages suffered or incurred, and to defend and indemnify Trainer and Trainer’s agents from any resulting claims, demands, lawsuits, losses, costs or expenses, including solicitor fees.
If Dog is injured in a fight or in any other manner during or after the term of the Agreement, Client assumes the risk and agrees that Trainer should not be held responsible for any resulting injuries, losses, damages, costs or expenses.
At Trainer’s sole election, Trainer’s duties hereunder shall terminate if (a) in Trainer’s sole judgement Dog is dangerous or vicious to Trainer or any other person or animal (b) Client breaches any term or condition of this Agreement. Upon termination in accordance with the foregoing, Trainer’s duties shall terminate but all other provisions of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.
This Agreement is binding upon Client, spouse of Client, and children of Client. This Agreement supersedes all prior discussions, representations, warranties and agreements of the parties, and expresses the entire agreement between Client and Trainer regarding the matters described above.
The parties confirm that, except for that which is specifically written in Dublin Canine Academy’s terms and conditions and in this Agreement, no promises, representations or oral understandings have been made with regard to Dog or anything else. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Client acknowledges that Trainer has not represented, promised, guaranteed or warranted that Dog will never bite, that Dog will not be dangerous or vicious in the future, that Dog will not exhibit other behavioural problems, or that the results of the training will last for any particular amount of time.
